I just discovered that a number of websites and blogging engines implement OpenSearch. Apparently also does BlogEngine.Net:

When you surf to my blog, IE detects that it uses the OpenSearch functionality and adds a search provider. It will go away when you leave the website, but if you want it to be permanent, just clik "Add Search Providers" and it will always be there! The search results integrate nicely with your website...
